Question by Maggie Lam: Does anybody know the value of the 1913 Georgivs V.D.G Britt Full Sovereign Gold Coin?
According to my dad, it's 24k gold. I've been trying to look all over the net for the value of it and I came across various websites and many different prices. Some say it's in the hundreds and some say it's in the thousands. Please help!
Best answer:
Answer by Neville I don't know what you could actually sell it for, but current buying prices are between £200 - £300 depending on condition. Check out Ebay and the websites of London coin dealers. The value tends to vary according to the current value of gold - which is quite high at the moment.

Question by minti: 2. Which is worth more, a bucket full of half a sovereign gold pieces or half a bucket filled with 1 sovereign
2.Which is worth more, a bucket full of half a sovereign gold pieces or half a bucket filled with 1 sovereign gold piece?
Best answer:
Answer by mikelyt78 probably half bucket filled with 1 gold piece. That's assuming there's no empty air pockets. think of it as filling a jar with marbles (you'll get air pockets). Or filling it with water ( no air pockets, therefore more volume!)

Question by Peter Taylor: What is the proper title and style of a great-grandchild of a British Sovereign?
From a patriIinear line, I mean.
They used to be called Princes\Princesses as well, but with a style HH instead of HRH. A quick search showed me that now they are styled either Lords or Ladies (e.g. the children of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent) or The Lord/Lady (e.g. the children of Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester). The eldest son of course takes the auxiliary title of his father.
Was the British Law changed, or the great-granchildren are still Prince/Princess and being styled as Lords/Ladies, as a way to downsize the number of royals?
Best answer:
Answer by Maggie C No, they are still Royal but sons and daughters of Dukes and Earls are always called Lord and Lady

2.Which is worth more, a bucket full of half a sovereign gold pieces or half a bucket filled with 1 sovereign gold piece?
Best answer:
Answer by Rick K I think the bucket full of half sovereigns would weigh more, and therefore be worth more, because a full bucket would weigh more than half a bucket, if filled with the same metal.

Question by Oscar L: Do you think Cuba should be respected like any other sovereign country ?
I took a half a year off after my high school to go to Cuba and what I have seen is just that people there have many things people wish to have here in America: education, health, happiness, beach, good food, style...good rum
Best answer:
Answer by dart So, they aren't? I didn't think there was any country besides the US that didn't treat Cuba like any other country....and the US cut off diplomatic ties in the early 1960s in response to the Communist Revolution...They're still communist, they are still run by Castro, and the US hasn't lifted the embargo...But no one else has a problem.
Your question implies that Cuba gets no respect from any nation.
Oh, and the explanation makes it sound like it's the people who don't get any respect, when it's the government that is the problem.

Question by Its Just Me: Would an old Dutch Guilder fit a half sovereign ring mount?
Well would it?
I have wanted a ring as a gift fro someone special using a ring mount and i wondered if a dutch guilder (you know the currency before the euro) would fit a half (or even a full) sovereign mount - as I have no idea what a dutch coin looks like or the size- but I could get one, and again I have no idea how big the 'gap' is on a sovereign ring mount...
Serious answers only please
Thanks so much in advance
Best answer:
Answer by Gree The Dutch Gulden is pretty much as big as the top of a beer bottle

Question by Buster Brown: Were the colonists sovereign under British rule?
Before the Revolutionary War, when the colonists were under British rule, were they sovereign? Why and why not
Best answer:
Answer by Brakes Required Definition of sovereign:
autonomous: (of political bodies) not controlled by outside forces; "an autonomous judiciary"; "a sovereign state"
By this definition the colonists were not sovereign, the British state was sovereign over them. In practical terms the British crown had difficulty controlling the colonists of course due to geography.
