Question by M: When did the Brittish King Richard III rule as sovereign of the UK?

Best answer:

Answer by Sybaris
There was no UK or Great Britain at the time, so Richard III was King of England.

He was born in 1452, took the throne in June 1483 and was killed in the Battle of Bosworth in August 1485.

Richard was the last of the Plantagenets, generally considered by historians to be the last Medieval King, and was succeeded by Henry Tudor (Henry VII) who ushered in the Early Modern Age. Henry was the father of Henry VIII and grandfather to Mary I (Bloody Mary) and Elizabeth I.

Question by Within the Storm: Should the British Sovereign reign alone as an Absolute Monarch?
The whole "Parliament" tradition seems a bit outdated, not to mention overly expensive and time-consuming...

Best answer:

Answer by english rosethorn
It may be a good suggestion. Her majesty I feel sure has more experience than all her ministers.

Since so few people bother to turn up to vote. Democracy appears to be rather wasted on the majority.

Question by Suicune: If the British Sovereign commands one of her subjects to do something, are they legally obliged to comply?
For example, if Queen Elizabeth II randomly ordered someone to make her a ham sandwich, and they refused, would they have broken the law?

Best answer:

Answer by Rolf
Yes, but the authorities would probably release the person after a few hours, after taking their DNA of course, to avoid quiet accusations of dictatorship.
This applies to white ethnic Brits; iIf they were an ethnic minority nothing at all would happen to them

probably half bucket filled with 1 gold piece. That's assuming there's no empty air pockets. think of it as filling a jar with marbles (you'll get air pockets). Or filling it with water ( no air pockets, therefore more volume!)
